The Unsung Heroes

For the ones who always heard me,

The ones who were always there,

The ones who always felt my pain,

The ones who always cared.

Everytime that you were standing next to me,

Each time that you kept an eye from afar,

How did you know I needed a hug,

Or just some space until I healed my scar.

This is such an unforgiving job,

With almost no appreciation,

And today as I stand in this position,

I realize the importance of your contribution.

You are the unsung heroes,

The people this world needs.

I hope one day I can pay you back,

For all your unselfish deeds.

  1. I don’t have any idea who some of those who had my back have been over the last 10 years, but they are appreciated in absentia to my personal knowledge of who they are. Your thought is to let them know you care
