She was like art,
And art wasn’t meant to make you feel good.
It was meant for you to feel something deep within you.
Or maybe she was like water.
And water wasn’t meant to be stunning,
It was meant to quench your thirst.
And that is exactly what she did to me,
Made me feel something deep within and quench my soul’s thirst.

This is only the second poem of yours that I have read, and don’t get me wrong, but I want to be in your head – for a little inspirational thinking help. You really know how to write poetry that touches the heart.

I honestly just write the way I feel. I think about the person I am writing about, and try to rhyme some words in it. I am an amateur at this!

That’s all we can hope for in life…to have our thirst quenched. A great poem my friend.

This is exactly the way I feel about a recent encounter with someone…I thought it was deeper, but really he simply quenched the thirst I had lost for a long time that is now gone. Thank you.
